Naomi Ackie was born on November 2, 1992, in Walthamstow, London, to black British parents who were second-generation Grenada immigrants. Naomi grew up in a working-class family with a father who worked for Transport for London and a mother who worked for the NHS (National Health Service).

On January 11, 1994, Kerdiles was born in the United States. As a youngster, he competed in the famous 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, showcasing his physical skills. He played for a minor ice hockey club from the beautiful city of Los Angeles during this competition, showcasing his skills as a young, talented player.
